5 out of 5 stars AWESOME Lovely Design and BABY Loves it!   January 4, 2009
We bought this for our 6 month old, as he is pulling up and crawling already. It is extremely strong! it is made of the strongest type of plastic and will not tople over like other cheap gates. This one is perfect. We bought 3 sets to put together on EBAY. I recommend buying only 2 if you have just 1 baby. We actually only have 2 of the playzones set up in our great room and keep the other 1 upstairs. It is so much bigger in person than it looks in the photos. Christmas day we had 3 adults and our 6 month old inside the playzone and there was still enough room for all of us to turn around and play with our baby. I am a stay at home mom and to be honest I stay inside the playzones with him MOST of the day and play with him. It is so nice and such a well made product. THE ONLY thing I find bad about the playzone, is that the DOORWAYS are NOT toddler friendly, meaning if you keep the DOORWAY open for them to walk in and out of, the bar that stays on the ground is VERY trippable. Our 14 month old niece was over at Christmas playing and we kept the gates open for her to go in and out of, well we had to keep it closed after we saw how trippable it was for her. While I dont think I will be having mine open for my son like that, we are very confidant that our gates will stand the test of time and we love how much HE LOVES them. We keep most of his toys inside and he doesnt even realize hes being contained. He just plays happily! We would recomend these to every parent who wants a safe and happy environment for baby so that things like laundry and dishes can be done, also just playtime.... these playzones are a must have!!!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome "cage"   December 23, 2008
I was very ambivalent about purchasing one of these, but I am SO glad I did! I actually bought two of them and use them together, or take out a few sides and use that to block a doorway. My ten month old loves it so far and has already gotten a LOT of use of the gate. I left it open initially so she wouldn't feel like she had to be in there and she would crawl in, shut the gate and play. Now she has discovered how much fun the gate can be! She will stand there and open the gate (if I have it unlocked) cruise with it, close it, cruise with it and back and forth many many many times... I think she sees it as a toy, and I see it as that too, but also a nice place for her to safely play if I need her out from under my feet for a little while. We've also put some blankets outside and brought this outside and she really enjoyed that, and I knew she was safe from the older kids accidently bumping into her. My older kids like to go into the playzone too and kick beach balls around.
I absolutely recommend this, I am very happy I got it!

4 out of 5 stars Good Play Pen   December 16, 2008
Tried the Summer Infant and it was terrible. My 5 month old son could push it around. This pen is much sturdier. My son likes the colors and built in toys.

5 out of 5 stars Good play pen, but even better as a stand-alone gate.   December 1, 2008

It's true, this is small on its own. However, we didn't want the entire living room taken up by a monster play pen, so we didn't buy any extensions. When our son got too big to spend any significant amount of time in "baby jail", we just separated one of the sections and put it up in front of the large opening between the living room and the dining room/kitchen. It is exactly as if we had bought one of the $$$$ custom-fit baby gates for large openings - but it has a play center, too! Last Christmas was a success because we could surround the tree with the (opened) fence, making it impossible for the baby to grab any ornaments/lights/presents. We've found numerous uses for this wonderful play pen, and we recommend it to anyone who needs to block an area off temporarily.

3 out of 5 stars Great, unless they're too smart..lol   November 19, 2008
I bought this for my grandson's 1st birthday on October 5,2008. The first two weeks he LOVED it! The busy little items on there had his attention and he even cried when we took him out! By the 3rd week, he started getting bored with it and realized that when he pushed it hard enough (and all around), it came apart and he could 'escape'. We then tried tying yarn at the ends to keep it together, but he quickly learned that he could get out by lifting it up and over his head! Now mind you, he's not in the yard long, perhaps only an hour a day (if that long)! So, if your child is laid-back and not as curious, this yard may do well for them and you. But, if you child is very curious and an explorer, it won't take them long to figure their way out. With all that said and done, I would still recommend it. I think it would probably work better for children under a year and/or before walking.
