About Our English Mastiff Breeding Program
Located in Swartz Creek Michigan (between Detroit and Saginaw), Stergo Mastiffs has been breeding the majestic English Mastiff since 2000. Stergo Mastiffs breeds our English Mastiff dogs with health and temperament as our primary concerns. While size is important, it is the whole package that we strive for in breeding a quality English Mastiff. It is an ongoing process to research the pedigrees and health history - but well worth the effort.

Health Information About Our English Mastiff Dogs & Puppies
At Stergo Mastiffs, the health, well being and longevity of our dogs, and the ultimate satisfaction of our English Mastiff puppy buyers are our first concerns. We screen for a variety of health concerns - OFA hips, and elbows. PRA, through DNA. Health Screening also consists of doing pedigree research as well as trying to convince other breeders to openly admit if there are any problems in their lines. Again the whole package is important - we are only able to test the dogs that we have, but we need the "family" testing to make better educated breedings. We hope that other breeders will co-operate with us in providing the best information to plan the healthiest and best bred English Mastiffs.
Stergo Mastiffs offers guarantees for hips and elbows, as well as a 1 year genetic problem guarantee - as detailed in our sales contract. We offer monetary replacement or another puppy if something should happen to go wrong with the specified guarantee item.
Buyer Requirements for Our English Mastiff Puppies
The home that a puppy is to be placed in is very important to us. We want to ensure that our puppies are going to people who understand that these are big snoring, slobbery dogs. They need loving homes where people understand the obligations as well as the benefits of owning a Mastiff. We hope to avoid placing these dogs in homes that might only be temporary. The best owners for a Mastiff are not afraid to ask questions about the care of these animals if they don't already know the answers. I'm happy to answer your questions long after you bring the dog into your home.
