About Our Jack Russell Terrier Breeding Program
Fern Hill Jack Russell Terriers is a small kennel located in historic New Orleans, Louisiana. My Jack Russell Terriers live in the house with us, and even sleep in my bed! Puppies are also house raised in open crates so that they can climb out and "read" the newspaper as soon as they are able. Our Jack Russell Terriers also spend plenty of time outside frolicking in our fenced yard. This helps in their training; they get lots of love, handling and socialization. We are proud to be members of the JRTCA, and all of our dogs are JRTCA registered.
The last litter out of my Foxwarren female, EarthAngel, was chosen by the Coach Leather Company to be in a holiday ad with "Moose", the Jack Russell who plays "Eddie" on the television show, Frasier. They sat wearing little red jackets and looking adorable with Moose for more than an hour, while a famous photographer "shot" them. They were trained for this by 4 trainers from "Birds and Animals", who chose my puppies because of their socialization and looks. Normally, Jack Russell Terrier puppies do not sit still this long. They need firm, but loving guidance, and when they get it, they can do almost anything.
I breed first for temperament and health, second for intelligence and ability, and third for correct conformation and beauty. Jack Russell Terriers are my life. I am somewhat convinced that they are aliens who have taken the form of cute little dogs so as not to threaten humans by their superior intelligence and capacity for love. (LOL) They have certainly "taken over" my house!
My dogs are fed Eukanuba or Abbity dog food and meat, vegetables and fruit. They get lots of love, exercise and attention, which all Jack Russell Terriers need. They love agility and they all do "silly pet tricks".

Health Information About Our Jack Russell Terrier Dogs & Puppies
As very responsible Jack Russell Terrier breeders for more than 10 years, the health of our dogs and the satisfaction of our clients is a very important concern for us. Our dogs are thoroughly screened for hereditary health problems prior to breeding, including CERF Eyes, BAER testing, Brucellosis testing and JRTCA vet check, which is part of the JRTCA registration process. Puppies are vet-checked, vaccinated and de-wormed before they are placed with their new owners, and we offer a comprehensive 1 year genetic health guarantee with each puppy that we place, as detailed in our sales contract. In keeping with the policy of our kennel which adheres to all standards for responsible breeding, we require that our pet-quality puppies be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age. This helps us to do our part against irresponsible breeding practices, and to help reduce the growing number of unwanted dogs in shelters throughout the country.

We are very devoted to our dogs and their offspring, and are careful to ensure that potential buyers will be equally devoted to their new Jack Russell Terrier puppy. Anyone interested in committing to the responsibilities of owning one of these special animals should thoroughly research the breed to ensure that it is the right match for them. They should have the time, knowledge, ability, facilities and resources to provide a happy, healthy, safe and permanent home for their special puppy. A fenced yard is recommended and a very good veterinarian an absolute must! We ask all of our owners to participate in puppy obedience classes to help their pup reach it's full potential as a good canine citizen. We are happy to provide any advice and support that may be needed in adjusting to life with your new family member, and we love to keep in touch with our new "extended" families! Our commitment extends for the life of our puppies, and in the event that our buyers are unable to keep their Jack Russell for any reason, our dogs and puppies are always welcome back home to our kennel.
